I received my Sigma Complete Set about a month ago, and wanted to use the brushes and get used to them before I do a review.
This is the set as a whole.
Lets get started with the face brushes:
Large Powder Brush-F30:
It is described by sigma as "very dense with a rounded top."
Bristles: Natural
Uses: I use this for setting powder for all over my face.
Overall thoughts: I love this brush! It is so soft and perfect for it's purpose. I think every girl needs the perfect powder brush, and this is mine. This is probably my favorite brush out of the face brushes.
Due Fiber Brush-F50:
It is described by sigma as "specially designed to generate an "airbrush" finish.
Bristles: Blend of synthetic and natural
Uses: I use this brush for cream blush, it apples perfectly to the apples of my cheeks.
Overall thoughts: This is the first duo-fiber brush I have ever had. I think the bristles could be a little denser, but it is definitely worth the money.
Large Angled Contour Brush-F40:
It is described by sigma as "an ideal brush to apply blush or contour shades."
Bristles: Natural
Uses: I use this for powder blushes and to contour.
Overall thoughts: It has the perfect density. Its dense enough to apply color with, but yet soft enough to blend it out. Great job Sigma!
Foundation Brush-F60:
It is described by sigma as "it can be used to apply liquid or cream foundation, moisturizers and to conceal large areas."
Bristles: Synthetic
Uses: I use this brush only to conceal large areas.
Overall thoughts: I love this brush for concealing bigger areas. I don't use liquid foundation, because I can't find one that I like that doesn't either a)have a weird smell or b)break me out.
Concealer Brush-F70:
It is described by sigma as "the rounded, tapered, flat shaped brush that is ideal to conceal under eye area."
Bristles:Synthetic
Uses: as a concealer brush
Overall thoughts: I love this concealer brush. It is small enough to get into all the tiny crevices on my face. If I need anything bigger I just use the foundation brush. I like the way this one applies, even with cream concealer.
Now the eye brushes:
Eye shading brush-E55:
It is described by sigma as "soft and dense with a rounded finish."
Bristles: Natural
Uses: packing eyeshadow on the lid, or smudging.
Overall thoughts: Perfect! This brush is worth its weight in gold.
Large Shader brush-E60:
It is described by sigma as "a flat shaped brush ideal for cream formulas and eye shadow primer."
Bristles: Natural
Uses: Overall color to the lid
Overall thoughts: I don't find myself reaching for this one as much as the others, but all in all, still a good brush.
Tapered Blending brush-E40:
It is described by sigma as "rounded and tapered at the top, specially designed to appy and blend color on the crease."
Bristles: Natural
Uses: I use this as a blending brush.
Overall thoughts: I like this brush to blend my eyeshadow. I even use it to apply setting powder under my eyes.
Medium Angled Shading brush-E70:
It is described by sigma as "angled, tapered, flat top, and ideal for applying highlight shade and inner corners."
Bristles: Natural
Uses: Sigma hit it right on the head. Highlighting! :) I also use it to blend out my crease color.
Overall thoughts: I love this brush. Perfect for highlighting.
Pencil brush-E30:
It is described by sigma for"precise application of color."
Bristles: Natural
Uses: I use this to apply my crease color, for smudging, and for outer corner.
Overall thoughts: I just hate that this brush is white. Most of my crease colors are darker so I am afraid of staining. But as far as the actual brush goes, it does exactly what it says it will. I am a big fan of this brush.
Small angle Brush-E65:
It is described by sigma as "essential for the application of gel or cream liner."
Bristles: Synthetic
Uses: I use this to apply my liner on the upper lashes.
Overall thoughts: I feel like I have finally found the perfect liner brush. This is probably my favorite brush out of all the eye brushes.
Eye liner brush-E05:
It is described by sigma as "an extra fine tipped brush that delivers a precise, firm, even stroke to the eyes."
Bristles: Synthetic
Uses: Liner
Overall thoughts: I think I have only grabbed for this brush a few times. I just prefer the E65 for liner. Not a bad brush, but I think its just preference.
So I hope you liked my review on these brushes!
